Each season within the ecclesiastical calendar of the church has its own particular emphasis which is reflected i the readings, hymns, lessons, sermons, chants and other activities suitable to the occasion.

 

January 1 - Octave Day of Christmas and Circumcision of Our Lord

January 6- Epiphany, Christ’s glory revealed. Our Lord’s baptism by John.

February 8 – Pre-Lent. Septuagesima, Sexagesima, Quinquagesima, February 24 Shrove Tuesday

February 25 Ash Wednesday, Lent spiritual journey with Easter its destination

April 5 Palm Sunday

April 6-April 11 Holy Week, Tenebrae, penitence, self denial

April 10 Good Friday

April 12 Easter Day

May 21 Ascension Day (Holy Thursday)

May 31 Penteconst (Whitsunday)

June7 – November 22 Trinity 1-24

November 29 – December 20 Advent 1 – 4

December 24 Christmas Eve

December 25 Christmas Day

 

Throughout the year various study groups enable you to participate in Bible Study, Fellowship, Prayer, Ministry and Mission as you see fit. These opportunities are noted in the weekly pew bulletins with appropriate contact persons noted.
