GETTING READY FOR SUNDAY: PREVIEW OF THE READINGS.
Today we come to Trinity Sunday in the church calendar, which provides us with the answer to the all important question, “ In light of all that the Church has shown us concerning the Advent, the Birth, the Baptism, the preaching, the teaching, and miracles , the suffering, death and resurrection, and ascension of Jesus Christ, and the sending of the Holy Spirit…Who is God?” God is the Father, who is always with His Son and always with His Holy Spirit. God is communion of love of the persons of the Trinity.
THE LESSON : Revelation 4:1-11
After this I looked, and lo, in heaven an open door! And the first voice, which I had heard speaking to me like a trumpet, said, “Come up hither, and I will show you what must take place after this.” At once I was in the Spirit, and lo, a throne stood in heaven, with one seated on the throne! And he who sat there appeared like jasper and carnelian, and round the throne was a rainbow that looked like an emerald. Round the throne were twenty-four thrones, and seated on the thrones were twenty-four elders, clad in white garments, with golden crowns upon their heads. From the throne issue flashes of lightning, and voices and peals of thunder, and before the throne burn seven torches of fire, which are the seven spirits of God; and before the throne there is as it were a sea of glass, like crystal.
And round the throne, on each side of the throne, are four living creatures, full of eyes in front and behind: the first living creature like a lion, the second living creature like an ox, the third living creature with the face of a man, and the fourth living creature like a flying eagle. And the four living creatures, each of them with six wings, are full of eyes all round and within, and day and night they never cease to sing, “Holy, holy, holy, is the Lord God Almighty, who was and is and is to come!” And whenever the living creatures give glory and honor and thanks to him who is seated on the throne, who lives for ever and ever, the twenty-four elders fall down before him who is seated on the throne and worship him who lives for ever and ever; they cast their crowns before the throne, singing, “Worthy art thou, our Lord and God, to receive glory and honor and power, for thou didst create all things, and by thy will they existed and were created.
THE GOSPEL: THE HOLY GOSPEL: John 3:1- 15
Now there was a man of the Pharisees, named Nicode′mus, a ruler of the Jews. This man came to Jesus by night and said to him, “Rabbi, we know that you are a teacher come from God; for no one can do these signs that you do, unless God is with him.” Jesus answered him, “Truly, truly, I say to you, unless one is born anew, he cannot see the kingdom of God.” Nicode′mus said to him, “How can a man be born when he is old? Can he enter a second time into his mother’s womb and be born?” Jesus answered, “Truly, truly, I say to you, unless one is born of water and the Spirit, he cannot enter the kingdom of God. That which is born of the flesh is flesh, and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit. Do not marvel that I said to you, ‘You must be born anew.’ The wind blows where it wills, and you hear the sound of it, but you do not know whence it comes or whither it goes; so it is with every one who is born of the Spirit.” Nicode′mus said to him, “How can this be?” Jesus answered him, “Are you a teacher of Israel, and yet you do not understand this? Truly, truly, I say to you, we speak of what we know, and bear witness to what we have seen; but you do not receive our testimony. If I have told you earthly things and you do not believe, how can you believe if I tell you heavenly things? No one has ascended into heaven but he who descended from heaven, the Son of man. And as Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, so must the Son of man be lifted up, that whoever believes in him may have eternal life.

Highlights from Vestry meeting on June 11th, 2025 @ 1900 hrs
1) Bishop Helen attended the initial part of the meeting and clarified the transitional period between Claude’s depature and the acquisition of a new St Mary’s full time minister. Paula Foster will be our newly appointed interim pastor and during her time of part time ministry, she will assist St Mary’s in creating a “Parish Profile” and application process for a new incumbent. This entails identifying who we are, what we would like to become and what qualities we seek in a new pastor that would enable us to get there. Paula would be available mid July 2025 and efforts are presently being made in creating a schedule utilizing Nathaniel and Beth and incorporating Paula. Bishop Helen is proud of the traditional worship at St Mary’s and would like the next incumbent to continue in worshiping with “the Book of Common Prayer.” Bishop Helen anticipates the Parish Profile to be initiated in October 2025, and adds that Paula’s interim position at St Mary’s would end in April 2026.
2) Warden’s Report: John and Mike will be meeting in short order to discuss our “Fair Share” with representatives from the Finance Committee. Claude’s final service is July 6th and we are seeking parish volunteer leaders to coordinate a “snacks” style meal and refreshments subsequent to the service for Claude and Hilary’s retirement.
3) Parish Life: Planning, information/discussion and action:
a) Berry Festival is being headed by Starr and a committee is being formulated. The festival will be on July 19th 2025 from 1130 -1430 hrs. Volunteers will be required for this major community outreach and fundraiser. (thank you Starr)
b) Andrew has signed for the new icon print The Wedding at Cana” which should be completed sometime in August of this year.
c) Due to late timing and lack of a coordinator, St Mary’s rototilling was unable to get off the ground this year. We’re hoping to get back into the ground in 2026.
